With the wave of digital transformation, enterprise digital maturity (DM) is seen as a core element in driving innovation and resilience. Digital maturity has been proven to have a significant impact on enterprise creative performance and dynamic capabilities (e.g., Usai et al., 2021; Shen et al., 2024). However, there is another key perspective that has not been given sufficient attention. That is the psychological state of employees, especially their immediate psychological tendencies when facing change—employee state optimism. Although research has highlighted the important role of psychological capital in innovation and adaptation (e.g., Peng & Chen, 2023; Sweetman et al., 2011). However, existing literature lacks a systematic exploration of the specific mechanisms through which employee's state optimism influences the relationship between digital maturity and creative performance and employee dynamic capabilities, particularly its potential mediating role. This research gap requires further research to explore the relationship and role between digital maturity and employee state optimism.
