ABSTRACT

This study examines the effect of reward information delivery on affective organizational commitment, with interactional justice serving as a mediating variable. A survey method was used to collect 458 survey questionnaires from public servants in Malaysian public higher education institutions. The measurement and structural models were then analyzed using SmartPLS. The outcomes of structural equation modelling reported two important findings: First, reward information delivery is a key enhancer of interactional justice and affective organizational commitment. Second, interactional justice serves as a crucial mediating variable between reward information delivery and affective organizational commitment. This result is consistent with and has also extended prior studies conducted in Western and Asian countries. The study's findings can help practitioners understand different perspectives of interactional justice and develop fair reward management practices to maintain and support their organization's reward strategy and objectives in times of global competition and innovation.
