An important challenge for the industry is how to reduce non-value adding activities which produce waste. To meet customer needs, every company needs to maintain the effectiveness of its supply chain so that products can be distributed to customers in a timely manner. For multinational company, lead time of releasing imported goods from the port to the warehouse tends to go up. This phenomenon is also the reason why improving the lead time of the import process is very important because it will affect the performance of its supply chain. The aim of this study is to reduce lead time of import process. The method used to reduce lead time in the import process is value stream mapping (VSM) by making current state mapping, identifying non-value added activities, designing future state mapping and conducting focus group discussions with business process owners and experts to validate future state mapping with the improvement goal in reducing lead-time can be implemented properly and the supply chain performance becomes effective and efficient
