ABSTRACT


This article undertakes a systematic literature review to critically examine the intersection of digital technologies and sustainability within the healthcare sector. It addresses the pressing need for eco-friendly healthcare practices, recognizing their increasing importance in the current context. The article aims to explore how the digitalization of healthcare, from electronic health records to telehealth services, can significantly contribute to sustainable healthcare practices. It underscores the importance of understanding and integrating digital tools and their potential environmental impacts, suggesting that these technologies could lead to notable advancements in green innovation in healthcare. The article also highlights the crucial role of digital literacy among healthcare professionals in enhancing sustainable practices. By synthesizing findings from a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals and clinics, it aims to demonstrate how digital interventions can reduce the ecological footprint of healthcare services, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainable patient care. This provides the groundwork for a thorough evaluation of the contributions of digital technologies to sustainability in healthcare, offering evidence-based recommendations for their effective use within healthcare systems.
