Does it really matter? Perspective of PERDA's Management and Its Beneficiaries on Good Governance Concept and Delivery in Public Project

ABSTRACT


Good governance concept and what constitutes them is considered crucial in achieving success in project administration and implementation. However, does the understanding of good governance concept really matter in delivering it? Therefore, this paper seeks to investigate the understanding of good governance concept and its delivery from the perspective of PERDA's management and their beneficiaries of public project. The qualitative method was applied, and data was collected through a semi structured interview. The retrieved information was analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings identified that the majority of them understood the concept of good governance, what constitutes them and were aware on the importance of good governance practices in public projects. This study verified that knowledge about good governance does matter in ensuring smooth project implementation and delivery within the organization and public. This study recommends that government, thru its authorities or agencies to continuously educate the organizations and public in understanding the true concept of good governance for a smoother project administration and implementation for the growth of the whole nation.
